Jeanne Hinton writes from her experience of the Post Green Community.

"As a Community we all became engrossed in reading and discussing Jurgen Moltmann on The Trinity and the Kingdom of God. It gave us a theology that both matched and challenged our experience.

Moltmann in his book affirmed the centrality of relationships to Christian faith. He wrote about the passionate longing of God for the other - 'vulnerable love, openness and an encountering kindness'. 'Warm, touching, caring affectionate,' one person had written about relationships in the Community. We often failed in this but we also knew how such relationships felt.

While Moltmann's writings encouraged us, they also challenged. He wrote of the Divine being imaged not in the individual but person with person. That he saw was the challenge for humankind - to move towards a society that was truly humane - a society in which individual rights and social rights were not pitted against each other.

His writing was one step in helping us a community move out more in our concern for society as well as the individual."
