"They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching... All the believers were together and had everything in common... No-one claimed that any of his possessions was his own, but they shared everything... There were no needy persons among them." (Acts 2,4)
The kingdom / reign / realm / rule of God - God's kin-dom - revealed in the Gospels required no less.
God's kin-dom seeks priority for the poor, justice and liberation for the marginalised, and the powerless and the dispossessed, for the widows and orphans, the alien and the asylum seeker.
Where the Christian community lives this out - responding to the challenge of the Gospel - the Christian Way becomes transparently attractive.
It is seen to be living out the mission of the church by being Christ in the neighbourhood - being the Jesus Society, where every aspect of life is seen from a different perspective.
The Christian Community will be seen to be making a difference in the lives of others, and setting an example for everyone, everywhere, to think about following -
for the sake of their families and friends, for their neighbourhood and workplace, wherever they do business or enjoy their leisure, for the betterment of life in the wider community, and in the world at large - for God's world, for God's creation, for God's people, for God's family.
